The Psychology of Color - Orange.
"If I had to choose my favorite color (after Black, Grey and Navy Blue) I would unequivocally say Orange." - Christos Joannides
They say if you like Orange you are gregarious, dynamic and fun to be with. You are also flamboyant by nature, and you have a great appetite for life and food - but enough about me.
Orange is a mixture of red and yellow, borrowing characteristics from both colors. The vitality of red combined with the friendly qualities of yellow create a color that is both fun and captivating. In more muted tones, like the colors of pumpkins and turning leaves, Orange is a reminder of autumn and the harvest, with their warm and pleasing associations. Burnt orange has a sophisticated appeal that is both elegant and exotic. Those beautiful Hermés boxes... yup stunning. Orange paired with Grey has always been one of my favorite combinations and every time I use Orange in my work it always brings a smile to my face.
A little more about the color Orange:
- Orange is a favorite among children and teens because of its playful and active qualities
- People who wear orange are thought to be creative, enthusiastic and fun to be with
- The terr-cottas are especially popular in the packaging of ethnic foods and gourmet products, conveying the feel of travel to exotic and faraway places
- Historically, Orange was used in flags and crests to signify strength, endurance and success
- Many restaurants paint their walls peach because the color reflects a flattering light on one's skin giving the face a rosy glow
