The original font designed in 1957 by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann |
Every time I get a new client I always try to see if I can incorporate the font somewhere whether on the web or in print. The beautiful robust proportions and sans serif design has lent itself to many logotypes - beautiful brand identities that still look good after so many years. The font was designed at the Hass Type Foundry in Munchenstein, Switzerland and the name Helvetica was derived from the Confoederatio Helvetica (the latin name for Switzerland).
I mean seriously, is there anything the Swiss do that is not exceptional?
